On the way to Livingston is a project with groundbreaking potential. Ak' Tenamit is educating and empowering surrounding villages to rise above the traditional sources of income of fishing, cutting tropical hardwoods and slash and burn agriculture.

Ak'Tenamit is achieving this by providing income generation programs that are based on ecologically sound, equal sharing and sustainable use of natural resources of the rainforest.

A village guesthouse program is avalaible where visitors can stay and experience life there while hiking from the center to Livingston on jungle trails. There is lodginhg, craft workshops, a Ceremonial Center, Coffee shop and more.
